Why Charlotte?

Charlotte is more than just a vibrant North Carolina city—it's a historical crossroads with a rich history tied to the African diaspora. In fact, 60% of enslaved Africans arrived in the U.S. through its shores. This makes Charlotte the perfect and appropriate setting for hosting the R-400 Movement.

Today, Charlotte is among the fastest growing metros in the US. Key influencers, ambassadors and heads of state, understand the incredible potential Charlotte and The Park Ministries play to heal the chasm created by the transatlantic slave trade and set the stage for a brighter future.

Charlotte is home to the Park International Trade Hub within The Park Expo and Conference Center — making it the only U.S. city with an African-American owned 529,000 sq ft facility that was built with trade and commerce in mind for a US-Africa Trade Hub.
